When we live on the go, it's hard to incorporate all of the nutrients we need on a daily basis! Between fitting in a quick workout here or there and things that come up, it can get difficult to steer clear of unhealthy foods. This is one of the smoothies that I make quite often, in order to maintain clean eating throughout my work week. It's easy to buy almost all of the ingredients well in advance to make it a faster go-to!
Ingredients:
1 Banana
1/2 Cup Frozen Strawberries
1/2 Cup Frozen Blueberries
1 Teaspoon Almond Butter
1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder
Splash of Vanilla Almond Milk (to desired taste, depending on thickness)
1/2 Cup Ice (Optional)
In a personal blender, combine the vanilla protein powder, banana and almond milk. Blend for 3 to 4 seconds in order to create a creamier liquid. Then, add the berries, almond butter and ice if you choose! I only use the frozen berries, so that it can be a creamier consistency. Blend until smooth, and done!
I typically like to make mine thicker, so that I can eat it as a "dessert" at the end of the day. This helps keep me away from sweets late at night and still allows me to get in needed nutrients.
