Now that it's July, we are well into bikini season. This means sitting poolside, boat parties and baseball games. Here are a few tips and tricks to keep you on track for the rest of the summer!
Pack Snacks
Never leave home without a "protein pack" to keep you through the day. When the work day is dragging on and you begin to feel hungry just a couple hours before you call it quits, pull these out of your snack drawer. A "protein pack" can have different variations, as well as yummy treats! This can include a variety of nuts (almonds, peanuts, etc), hard boiled eggs, granola bars and yogurt! Also, make sure to drink lots of water to keep you hydrated throughout the day. This will help you to stay fuller longer and keep you sharp to do your job.
Cardio Before Dinner
Some of us just want to sleep in a little longer in the morning. That is a-okay! But when you get home from work, the first thing anyone wants to do is lay down on the couch and relax. This causes us to fall off the workout routine because we tend to get too comfortable after a long day! If you don't workout in the morning, try to get into the habit of going straight to the gym after work, or going on a jog first thing when you get home. Try bringing your workout clothes with you and changing into them before you leave the office. Once you get into the habit, you'll realize how easy it is to keep up!
Walk After Dinner
Just like working out before you eat, it is just as important to get moving afterwards! This can be a way for you and your family or significant other to get to spend time together... without technology. You can catch up on each others day, as well as wind down a bit. If you have an office job where you don't get to move around as much as you would like, this can help you easily get your legs moving one last time for the day.
Stick to Homemade
We all love the convenience of fast food and the greasiness of that perfect slice of pizza. This is okay to do in moderation, but not often. Sundays are known for family time and relaxing, which you can use to benefit yourself for during the week! Try meal prepping chicken, salads and other clean foods for the days to come. This can provide you with an easier evening to-do so you can avoid the drive-thrus and delivery fees.
